It is National Mental Health Week in the UK. Mental health is as important as physical health and should be taken just as seriously in our wellness.
Physical activity is helpful and does have a positive effect on our mental health. However, it’s not everything and while providing us with many benefits, there is a lot more to mental health and a lot more to be explored.
As part of mental health awareness week (May 18-24), we want to help shine a light on it and point you in the direction of resources and organizations that offer more advice, professional services, and mental health support.
It is hosted by the Mental Health Foundation and the theme this year is kindness and you can get involved and join the conversation with #KindnessMatters as well as #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek on Twitter.
You can find more information on the awareness week on their website here and FAQs here.
Resources for more immediate help can be found here.
Remember being kind applies to being kind to yourself as much as being kind to others.
The COVID-19 pandemic can be affecting our mental health as well and may affect individuals differently. Find resources and help on this here.
