It’s that time of year.
Festivities are on the horizon. Lights are up everywhere. Holidays are booked. Many people are taking a break from work. Families are coming together to celebrate, and the food… oh, the food.
Okay, I got a little carried away there.
But this is also the time of year when food and treats are constantly in front of us, and when many gyms close for a few days. The New Year is almost here, and while plenty of people are preparing for their “new year, new me” moment and setting ambitious New Year’s resolutions, these last few days of the year are often the quietest time in the gym.
The calm before the storm is upon us.
And while I’m genuinely happy to see gyms overflow in the first couple of weeks of January, even if it makes getting to the equipment a little more challenging, there’s something I really enjoy about these quiet days. Make the most of them. Train if you can, rest if you need to, and most importantly, enjoy the food, the festivities, and the moment.
